Thalia and Trey’s Intimate & Rustic Cellar 222 Celebration
Thalia and Trey, both Alaska born, first met through a dating app. But, their love story didn’t truly begin until the universe—and its mysterious ways—brought them back together. And, that’s when they quickly discovered the many common interests they share—things like live music, traveling, sushi, animals (specifically their two cats), and binge watching new shows to name a few.
So, it’s obvious why it didn’t take Trey long to realize Thalia was the one for him and get down on one knee after fourteen months of dating. Fast forward to just last month—May 2017, which brings us to their intimate and rustic wedding at Cellar 222 to celebrate their forever as Mr. & Mrs. Thomas.
While the pair didn’t have a “theme,” per say, they built off of the cozy Tuscan vibes of the venue to serve as the perfect backdrop for their wedding and reception. With soft lighting, floralscapes, Italian foods and desserts, and not to mention completing the finishing touches with wine bottles, the bride and groom put on a romantic soiree to remember for years to come.
Read on for Thalia’s take on their wedding day, and savor some of the moments captured by Remember Today Photography!
How did you meet? And how did he pop the question? Tell us your story. We met a few years back on a dating app, but both started dating other people shortly after we began chatting. Eventually, the world—and all its mysterious ways—brought us together through friends of friends, Twitter, and being at the right place at the right time. Fourteen months after we officially started dating, Trey worked with my friends on a little surprise. A few friends asked me to go to brunch and, afterwards, they wanted to come over to meet our new cats. Little did I know, "meeting the cats" actually meant capturing the moment Trey dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Seven months and one week later, those very same friends were there to capture the moment we both said "I do."

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them. We used “Reminder” by Mumford & Sons as the bridal processional because we are both huge fans. For our recessional, we chose “I Found You” by Alabama Shakes because the words fit our relationship to a T. We ended the night with “All My Friends” by LCD Soundsystem because they are my favorite band and we wanted to end the night dancing with all of our friends, which is exactly what happened as soon as the song came on.
Did you have something borrowed, something blue, something old, and something new? If so, do tell! My something borrowed was a penny in my shoe that Trey found that day. My something blue was my undergarments. My something old was my body, lol, because I was so physically tired by the time the actual wedding day came around. And, my something new was my dress and my hair color, which I had just changed two days before!
Your best practical advice to a soon-to-be bride. Don't plan out your food, beverages, favors, anything, until you have a solid idea of your guest count. And, don't sweat the small stuff, it's not worth it.
What’s next for you as a couple? What memories are you looking forward to making together? Next is A LOT of relaxing with our kitties. We look forward to spending the rest of our lives traveling the world, seeing as many concerts as possible, and getting to the beach as often as possible.
Let us know one thing that WOWed you while working with McKenzie Phillips. McKenzie went above and beyond on the day of. If there was something we needed, she was on top of it in seconds. Even if it was just making sure we had a drink after all the ceremony so we could finally calm down!
